Some are quiet, personal crossroads: whether to stay or leave, speak or stay silent, act or wait. Others are much larger, woven into the world\u2019s violence and velocity\u2014choices that ask who we are, and who we\u2019re willing to become.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"770\" data-start=\"507\"><em data-end=\"524\" data-start=\"507\">The Narrow Path<\/em> is a poem about those in-between places. It&#8217;s about walking the line between action and retreat, resistance and resignation. It&#8217;s about the tension we live with\u2014individually and collectively\u2014as the world asks more of us than certainty can offer.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"879\" data-start=\"772\">This piece doesn&#8217;t aim to provide answers. style=\"text-align: center\">We walk the line where shadow slips beneath the trees,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">not night, not day\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">but the hush between.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"810\" data-start=\"742\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Not the storm,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">not the calm\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">but the wind just before it breaks.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"927\" data-start=\"812\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">We stayed<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">when the house no longer echoed us.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Not love, not hate,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">but something worn and weathered<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">between.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1024\" data-start=\"929\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">We left the job with steady pay,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">not chasing dreams,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">not fleeing dread\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">just needing air.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1161\" data-start=\"1026\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">We watched a friend unravel<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">and wondered if our voice<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">would heal or haunt.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Not savior, not ghost\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">just the ache of not knowing.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1359\" data-start=\"1163\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">We saw a man taken from the street<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">by men in unmarked black,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">no words spoken\u2014just vanishing.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">We posted, we shouted,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">but did not follow.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Not cowards, not heroes\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">just shaking and still.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1581\" data-start=\"1361\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">We read of families burned from their homes,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">children disappeared,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">names erased from maps and memory.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">The word was genocide.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">We whispered it\u2014too late.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Not ignorance, not denial\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">just the comfort of elsewhere.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1805\" data-start=\"1583\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">We stood in heat that broke the sky,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">watched fires turn forests into smoke.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Knew the air was wrong,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">the season warped.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Still we bought, still we burned.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Not helpless, not free\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">just tangled in the thrum of now.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"2021\" data-start=\"1807\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">We watched flags wave like weapons,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">truth traded for spectacle.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Watched neighbors become enemies<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">because it was easier than listening.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Not righteous, not rebel\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">just tired, and tempted<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">to shut the door.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"2179\" data-start=\"2023\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">We held the pen<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">and asked it to tell the truth.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">But truth splits like shale.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Not lie, not fact\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">but fractured lines<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">we choose to follow or ignore.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"2340\" data-start=\"2181\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">We stared into the machine<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">that offered us a thousand hands<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">to do our work.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Not theft, not craft\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">just mirrors in the fog,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">and no clear self to hold.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"2356\" data-start=\"2342\" style=\"margin: 0cm;text-align: center\">Still we walk\u2014<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm;text-align: center\">not forward, not back,<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm;text-align: center\">but balanced<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm;text-align: center\">on the knife-edge of choice.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"2494\" data-start=\"2358\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">The path is narrow,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">edges jagged and steep.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">One missed step<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">and you fall into the maw of conflict,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">or into the exile of retreat.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"2592\" data-start=\"2496\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Each step a choice\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">between stillness and slipping,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">between breath<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">and the breaking of it.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"2765\" data-start=\"2594\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">And somewhere far\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">beyond the reach of decision\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">a bird rises<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">on the edge of the wind,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">not flying away,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">not circling back,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">but held<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">exactly<\/div>\n<div
