They live beneath the surface, dressed in competence and success, hidden behind the applause, the promotions, the practiced smile. This poem speaks to one of those truths\u2014the relentless, invisible weight of never feeling good enough. Not because of failure, but in spite of achievement.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"675\" data-start=\"476\">It&#8217;s written without the word <em data-end=\"509\" data-start=\"506\">I<\/em>, but make no mistake\u2014it\u2019s personal. For anyone who\u2019s ever worn the shape the world asked for and still felt like an imposter beneath it, <em data-end=\"663\" data-start=\"647\">Chameleon Skin<\/em> is for you.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong data-end=\"436\" data-start=\"418\">Chameleon Skin<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-end=\"560\" data-start=\"440\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Not for lack of effort,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">nor talent braided into bone.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">The hands did what was asked.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">The voice bent in every key.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"689\" data-start=\"562\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Smiles were painted precise.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Mirrors practiced them well.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">In boardrooms, applause.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">At home, a quiet too vast for words.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;text-align: center\"><a style=\"text-align: center\">Still\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">not enough.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"991\" data-start=\"807\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">A name on plaques,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">a corner office view,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">the slow nod of respect<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">that never pierced the shell.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Each rung climbed<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">just another ledge<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">to stare down<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">the same hollow truth.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1217\" data-start=\"993\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Set the bar\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">then soared.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Raised it higher\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">soared again.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Each victory<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">a glass that shattered<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">before it reached the lips.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">The goal was never the goal,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">only a shield<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">against the ache<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">of not being enough.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1381\" data-start=\"1219\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Love, when it came,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">was held like breath underwater\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">too careful,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">too long.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Gifts misunderstood,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">laughter echoing off walls<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">never meant to hold joy.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1507\" data-start=\"1383\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Even the good days\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">and there were good days\u2014<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">never settled into the chest.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Like trying to hold warmth<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">in a sieve.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1667\" data-start=\"1509\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Not for lack of trying.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Not for lack of wanting.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Only that the skin<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">was always borrowed.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">Camouflage stitched<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">from expectation,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">survival,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">fear.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"675\" data-start=\"476\">\n<p data-end=\"1730\" data-start=\"1669\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">A shape that fit in every room,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">yet never felt like home.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><\/p>\n<div
